First established in 1898 by Johann Haltermann in Hamburg, Germany, Haltermann has a tradition of innovation, customer service, and top-quality products. Haltermann's offices and production facilities are in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg and Speyer.
Haltermann is one of the leading producers in Europe of hydrocarbon-based specialties and hydrocarbon solvents, including printing ink distillates, high-purity hydrocarbons, hydrocarbon propellants, and test and reference fuels.
Haltermann also offers a wide range of services including testing, contract blending, and storage services.
Haltermann serves many industries, including the automotive, pharmaceutical, crop protection, cosmetic, fine chemical and laboratory chemical industries, graphic arts and printing, electronics industry, as well as plastics processing.

Haltermann is a member of the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI, Verband der Chemischen Industrie), which represents 90% of the chemical industry in Germany.
Haltermann is also a member of the Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (DECHEMA Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e. V.).
Also, Haltermann is a member of the Brussels-based Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council.
